The press release is a request for the removal of the Spa City fire chief with a vote of no confidence. NEWS10 welcomes K.C. Kantz as new evening anchor The release states the union wants Chief Joseph Dolan fired, and the list the following reasons for their decision:In 2019, a contract with the Town of Greenfield to supply them with Ems services found the contractual agreement would expose residents to unacceptable risk.In 2021, the chief chose to operate the fire truck with one less person than OSHA recommends for safety. Then in 2022, during the officer involved shooting, the union says the chief’s casual actions and concern for the wellbeing of those in his charge only boosted the lack in confidence in the chief’s leadership. The release goes on to say that an ongoing of operational measures have impacted patient care needs, and that inter-facility ...

Kiszla: Avs killing themselves with silence about Valeri Nichushkin’s mysterious absence following reported 9-1-1 call There’s more to being a champion than hoisting the Stanley Cup. The Avs might be good at hockey, but as an organization, they’re failing at life. With the NHL world buzzing about the disappearance of forward Valeri Nichushkin and a Seattle police report indicating an intoxicated woman found in his hotel room on the afternoon of a playoff game had to be transported to a hospital, the right thing for president of hockey operations Joe Sakic to do was obvious. Sakic needed to stand up with clear-eyed accountability to loyal fans and a sense of compassion for Nichushkin, a Colorado player in trouble.Instead, the Avs ducked and ran, insisting there is nothing to see here, despite the release of the report that links Nichushkin to a 9-1-1 call made by a team doctor on behalf of a 28-year-old Ukrainian woman who reportedly told police she regretted traveling to the United States and her passport had been confiscated by a “bad man.”The Avs’ response to this mess and Nichush...

Warriors blow chance to clinch at home, drop Game 6 to Kings SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors’ Game 5 win in Sacramento earlier this week set the defending champs up for the chance to clinch their first-round series on home court, where they’ve been nearly unbeatable in the playoffs. But the Warriors blew a golden opportunity, opening the game flat and spending most of the final three quarters trying to play catch. Stephen Curry scored 29 points, Klay Thompson had 22, but the Warriors’ same issues that caused them to fall into a 2-0 hole at the beginning of this series, haunted them Friday night in their 118-99 win. The Warriors turned the ball over too many times and gave the Kings too many second-chance opportunities. Sacramento, playing with its season on the line, maintained control of the game to force the series back to Sacramento for a pivotal Game 7. Golden State missed its first four shots, and Sacramento took advantage to build an 8-0 lead. With Curry and Thompson scoring a combined 15 points, the Warriors manage...

49ers draft: Historic wait until safety Ji’Ayir Brown arrives as first pick SANTA CLARA — The 49ers waited longer than ever in team history to start drafting, even after moving up 12 spots Friday night, all to select safety Ji’Ayir Brown from Penn State.Brown, this year’s Rose Bowl defensive MVP, arrived in the third round at No. 87 overall, a spot originally held by the Minnesota Vikings.Selecting a safety makes sense for one of the NFL’s best defenses, in that Brown could pair with All-Pro Talanoa Hufanga as the 49ers’ safety tandem for the foreseeable future. Either this year or later, Brown will look to unseat Tashaun Gipson Sr., who re-signed last month after serving as Hufanga’s veteran wingman last season.“I’m more excited than anybody to conversate and learn from those guys, piggyback off them, and help this team win a Super Bowl,” Brown said in a video conference call with reporters.Safety Ji’Ayir Brown #16 of the Penn State Nittany Lions intercepts pass intended for wide receiver Devaughn Vele ...
