After just a year, Momento in downtown St. Paul to close to re-concept

After just a year, Momento in downtown St. Paul to close to re-concept Momento, the restaurant that opened about a year ago in the former Pazzaluna space, is closing temporarily. The restaurant will close from July 30-Sept. 5. When it reopens on Sept. 6, there will be a new concept that includes a new chef and entirely new food and drink menus.Memento was a more casual eatery than Pazzaluna, with a bar front-and-center. There were still a few pizzas (probably Pazzaluna’s most popular item) on the menu, and the wood-fired oven was used to make more appetizers and entrees.A spokesperson for Morrissey Hospitality, which owns Momento, said the name of the restaurant will remain the same, but the decor will have some noticeable changes. For now, the company plans to keep the Adam Turman mural that adorns one side of the space.Downtown St. Paul has been slow to rebound from the pandemic. Although shows and events are returning, workers are not. Many, including government workers, remain remote or hybrid, making it tricky for restaurants to keep steady busines...
